Case Study Summary: Dental Savings Complete

UI/UX Designer
Project Lead

Business Need:
United HealthCare One, part of United HealthCare, sought to add a dental discount savings program to address a missing product need, leading to increased sales and offering an additional discount program to the buyer. As the product was new to the company, new designs were required site wide for both direct customer and broker sales needs.

Design Process:

1. Discovery & Ideation:
The process began with an in-depth discovery phase, which involved reviewing the business goals, new product information, and stakeholder requirements. We conducted brainstorming sessions and collaborative workshops with the product, development and business teams to define the scope and key features.

2. Initial Designs & Prototyping:
Based on insights gathered from research, I began creating designs and prototypes for critical flows. The focus was on making the new product designs as cohesive and easily compatible with current product design and workflow. No usability testing was requested.

3. High-Fidelity Design & Handoff:
After incorporating feedback from collaborative meetings, I moved on to creating high-fidelity designs that included the final color scheme, typography, and visual elements. I worked closely with the development, product and business teams during the handoff process, providing detailed design specifications and assets to ensure the final product aligned with the design vision.

4. Post-Launch Evaluation:
Product is scheduled to launch February 2025.
